Update on my Vegetarian daughter...and other non-diet diets in this house….

She went to a Panama Island and Panama jungle this summer as a missionary. She ended up eating meat. Which was fine. I told her whichever choice she made (stick to her decision to be a Vegetarian or adhere to their culture out of respect) was good. She said it ended up basically being “eat meat or end up in a hospital”. I’m guessing she meant from mal nutrition since she was in a very poor area. Anywho, she went back to being a Vegetarian (but will eat fish) a few days after getting back home. She’s doing well. She said the other day she was so excited the school had cheese (no meat) pizza she forgot to get anything else, so her lunch was one slice of pizza. lol

My oldest (whom you may remember had her gallbladder out Spring before last and her appendix last Spring) seems to have gluten intolerance. This is my daughter who refused to eat solid food for years when she was young (preschool thru elementary) and ended up on a special liquid diet. She could be the poster child for picky eaters. Anyway, now the few things she loves is guess what? That’s right, full of gluten! *headdesk*

Third daughter won’t eat mashed potatoes but will eat fries and wont eat tomatoes slices, but will eat cut up tomatoes in soup. Otherwise, she’ll eat anything. The doctor said she needs to learn proper proportions and only get seconds on veggies.

Youngest daughter won’t eat anything spicy.

Hubby is very allergic to fish. The smell makes him very sick to his stomach. Yeah. Bad. Much less to eat fish. *I* can’t eat fish (which I love) and kiss him, because it causes his throat to close and he breaks out. I usually avoid fish nowadays ‘cause I love kissing him more. *g* Oldest daughter gets sick if she eats fish.

So, with all that in mind, I am supposed to start coming up with family meals for us. LOL-yeah.

Yesterday Hubby picked up i.d. tickets for the things for the things my daughters and I were intering in the fair, so we had them all filled out before hand for a change. It made getting them entered soooo much easier today.
They were supposed to be judged by 2pm, but because of the amount of photogrpaphy entered this year they are still not done and it's after 3. And to thnik My oldest 2 didn't enter any pictures, and only one of my younger 2 entered pictures and she didn't enter in all catagories. Only I entered in all catagories from the family this year.
Anyway, I'm sitting here at the library trying to not be nervous (but it's fail, lol). I am excited!
I entered 14 pictures: The catagories under Color and B/W are the same: Senic, Portriat, Candid, Flowers, Animals, Computer Enhanced and Misc. I also entered paintings in all catagories (same catagories as pictres).
I also entered a bookcase I painted (folk art on wood) and the board I painted and framed with a very old window (recycled decorative item).
My daughters that entered were in the 15 and Under Division. The youngest entered a painting and that was it. (Only one catagory for painting for Under 15). My oldest of the younger two entered a painting also. She also entered 4 pictures.
Ok, so now it's 3:21pm... do you think they are done? lol

BtVS/A question

At the end of Buffy (in a nut shell) she allows/helps all the potential girls to be slayers. OK, so why don't we see any Slayers in L.A. on Angel? Mainly in the alley of the last show?

I have been reading some great Angel/Spike fics (as well as other great slash fics) but I just had to mention this one. It *roflol* funny.

I recently started watching Angel (and then Buffy). I have never seen them before. I am really enjoying them. Some of the lines are just *roflol*! And of course David and James are melt-worthy!

First, define weird. lol

Some people would think A is a weird as food food. I have eaten shark and it was good. Baked with a little butter and lemon, nice.

If you've ever seen a catfish you might think that would be weird to eat, but they are good... if they are not muddy flavored. Catfish has to be prepared correctly or they taste the part of the lake they came from, not the fish.

Some people might think fried green tomatoes are weird, but I have eaten them. They are tangy. Mmm

Some people thnk grits are weird, but I love them! Just grits, a little salt and a lot of butter and it's divine! Add red eye gravy and you could be talking Heavenly!

Some people (ok, my 18 y/o) thinks vegetarian lagazna is weird (she's like what's the point? ) but I love it.

Would someone think eating deer weird? I love it. It's best in stew. My stew.

What about rabbit? I've eaten it but when I was a kid some rabbit made me sick and to this day I won't eat it.

I have eaten what us kids call sour grass. Look a bit like tiny clover with yellow flowers. It's, well, it's sour. lol

I've eaten a plant stem called Doc. It tasts like sour apples.

I've eaten polk salad and polk is actually a weed. Would you consider that weird? Polk, mustard greens, turnip greens and spinish are a lot alike. Just some are more bitter than the others.

My Mom makes this "Spring Salad" and it has things like violots and dandlions and "weeds" from the yard in it. Yes, I'd eat that again.

As a kid I ate dirt. And no, I wouldn't do that again! lol

I'm sure there are more weird things I've eaten and I know there are more weird things out there I want to try, but this is what I can think of right now.

My 9 year old donated her hair to Locks of Love for the 4th time.
